To the outsider, the name “Blue Bird” evokes images of a soaring airline. But to Indonesians, Blue Bird is aptly associated with its dynamic and reliable transportation fleet serving two million passengers monthly.

From modest beginnings in 1972 - with only 25 taxi cabs - the Blue Bird Group's fleet now has over 11,000 vehicles. The company offers services ranging from taxis, executive taxis, limousines and all sizes of buses to container trucks.

Land transportation is still Blue Bird's core business and identity today although the company has three other divisions : Manufacturing, Property and Support Services.

Having established its headquarters in Jakarta, Blue Bird has carved for itself a unique place in the heart of the business and tourist activities of Indonesia's capital, a bustling metropolis of 12 million people. Although the company is famous for the Blue Bird taxi in Jakarta, its limousine, car rental and leasing service Golden Bird, enjoys a virtual monopoly. It provides chauffeur-driven cars and limousines at all four and five star hotels in metropolitan Jakarta and Bali and at all terminals of the Jakarta International airport. Taxis and car rental services extend beyond Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Jogyakarta, Bali, Lombok and Bandung.
