The Pioneer of Luxury Taxi

Blue Bird Group has long being associated as the role model for quality and reliable transportation partner. Yet that evening, it has accomplished a new record.

Award of Rekor Bisnis (ReBi) is given to Blue Bird Group for its remarkable initiation on bringing luxury in a form of taxi service, the Silver Bird. The ceremony which was held on Wednesday, February 24th 2010 also gave awards to eight other companies for their achievements in setting a new record of business. Standing proud amongst them, Blue Bird Group was awarded as “The Pioneer of Luxury Taxi”.

This initial event of a Rekor Bisnis (ReBi) in JW Marriott Jakarta was a collaborative idea of Seputar Indonesia Daily with Tera Foundation and supported by Frontier Consulting Group. Handi Irawan, the founder of Tera Foundation, is also known as the initiator of Top Brand Award, ICSA (Indonesian Customer Satisfaction Award), IMAC (Indonesia’s Most Admired Companies), as well as a variety of popular awards in Indonesia.

ReBi has meant to be a distinctive appreciation in the form of record to companies or organizations (foundations, institutions, and communities), both private and government, and also of a service product, the brand achieved top performance in the field of Market Performance, Performance Products, Performance Services, Process Performance, Research & Development, Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility towards society and environment, as well as the advantages of other businesses, accounted and maintained for a period of three years.

The objectivity and reliability of ReBi is guaranteed to be accountable, as it is provided through market research, secondary data, media publications and also the jury’s decision.

ReBi is expected to be a source of inspiration and spur companies to produce better products, performance, and new innovations, which will help to improve Indonesia’s economic growth globally. Mr. Handang Agusni, Director of Blue Bird Group who received ReBi said that this accolade is the fruit of Silver Bird’s labor to ensure premium quality in transportation service.

“We are grateful that today our effort and hard work has finally set a new business record. Blue Bird Group is with no doubt in the field for the first time developing a luxury taxi in the brand of Silver Bird. Hopefully this prominent award could increase motivation for all of us to progress, better serve and always be a head in transportation business,” says Mr. Agusni.

An executive taxi service, Silver Bird was initially born in 1993 as a participation of Blue Bird Group to serve the transportation needs of honorable states-member of Non-Aligned Movement/NAM (Gerakan Non-Blok), which was held in Jakarta. From 240 units in 1993, the premium fleet then grew to almost 800 units now consists of Mercedes Benz C-Class and E 200 Compressor and has released its new and more spacious armada, Toyota Vellfire.
